Don't Contact Aliens ?

Well, bless his heart, Stephen Hawking says that trying to contact aliens is too risky. His concern was shared on the premiere of his Discovery Channel Into the Universe With Stephen Hawking. His expansive take on alien life, wormholes, and time travel makes the headlines seem trivial.   Stephen Hawking's visions of the future present a fascinating, yet theoretical, realm of possibilities. Time anomalies alone could be staggering. Perhaps the risk of contacting aliens lies more in our response to their technologies and cultures than in their desire for colonization.

On the other hand, why assume that they don't know about us already. If extraterrestrials' incredible technologies have existed for thousands of earth years --- maybe minutes to them --- visits might have been frequent. The History Channel program, Ancient Aliens: The Series covers the many theories that aliens have been here.   Erich von Däniken, the father of ancient astronaut theories, suggests that extraterrestrial technologies built the great pyramids of Egypt, Central and South American temples, and the Maoi statues of Easter Island. Current investigations into the stones revealed possible lathe marks. The video discusses similar ideas.

Archaeologists claim that humans, as we know us, have been on the earth for around 200,000 years.   In a little over 10,000 years, humans have launched ships into space and collected moon rocks. Is it possible that humanity had developed advanced technologies? That they found ways to counteract earth's gravity and lift heavy objects. The legends of Atlantis comes to mind. What if, after various natural disasters, a remnant of advanced humans survived --- maybe in space or an earthly refuge. Returning or re-emerging, they traveled around the globe bringing their high tech tools with them. They would certainly inspire worship among humans who were forced into primitive living.

Another idea, inspired by Stephen Hawking, involves time travel. Scientist know so little about time. What if these ancient astronauts are from earth's future. Star Trek's fictional Prime Directive would not carry weight if future earth-people discovered a way to avert a man-made disaster and change history. It could be as simple as global warming. Or experiments with anti-gravity in the near future endanger lives and real estate. Does anyone really know what happened in the Philadelphia Experiment? Did they open a wormhole and stick their noses into another future? Parallel universes? Ouch.

Thank you for your concern, Stephen Hawking. Your points are valid as usual. Your ideas are brilliant. I'll stay tuned to the Discovery Channel between History Channel programs.

Quantum Jumping

Google Adsense ads run on my website and on this blog. I've been seeing an ad for Quantum Jumping so I thought I'd check it out. After all, my website discusses the possibility of parallel universes, string theory, and a multi-dimensional cosmos. I expected something interesting at best. Boring at the worst.

Instead, I found one of those woefully typical websites selling CDs/DVDs for an outrageous price. I find it hard to believe that those incredibly long, text-heavy web pages can sell anything to anyone. They're poorly done and boring. I skipped to the bottom to see the price.

According to the Quantum Jumping website I arrived at, the package was $167. Is this an experiment by aliens to see how silly a website can be and still sell stuff? Just kidding, of course. All marketers know to use roundish numbers for prices. $159.99 for example. $99.99, even. But $167??? Is that a significant number in the Quantum Jumping universe? Maybe.

The other flaw involved Burt Goldman's evidence for his success. His artwork. No offense, Mr. Goldman, but I've seen better work at Artsonia Kids Art Museum.   In fact, many of the young folks are very talented. They could have found their talent in a parallel universe but I doubt it. My guess is that they've had art lessons after school, love what they do, and receive encouragement from their families. While I can't say for sure, I don't think they spent $167 on Mr. Goldman's DVDs or CDs.

By the way, I drew the bonsai tree piece about twenty years ago. I definitely drew it in the current universe.

So why is this on my blog? One of the many reasons I've taken the time to create my website and this blog is education. I want to provide information.   I search YouTube for relevant videos. The excitement and endorphins derived from understanding our current universe is worth my time and effort.

People who buy silly programs like these don't have a clue about physics. Maybe they want to believe.   Maybe they're just too lazy to borrow and read a self-help book from the library. They're free, you know. Unless you have library fines up the wazoo.

I didn't buy the Quantum Jumping program. When I take a nice nap, I can slip into any universe I want. Unfortunately, slipping into a parallel universe doesn't help much in this one. But a nice nap is great.

DNA, Galaxy, and SETI

Sounds like the makings of a new SyFy series. Truth is often stranger than fiction. And, normal can be odder than paranormal.

The double helix, DNA, resides within each cell that makes up each and every living organism. DNA analysis has exploded into enormous amounts of data. New technology, the NexGen DNA sequencing analyzer, has overloaded research computers worldwide. The sequencing analyzers, manufactured by Applied Biosystems a subsidiary of Life Technologies (LIFE), have spewed 50 terabytes of data. That's a 50 with twelve zeroes after it. And that's just humans. Imagine the volume of data from other life forms.

Most computers can download a gigabyte or two. It would take almost five days to download the entire human genome catalog. Cloud computing may offer a solution. Computers networked over the internet form a cluster coordinating data transfer and analysis. The SETI @ Home Project pulled thousands of home computers into a massive network to analyze data collected from radio telescopes in space. The SETI goal, finding extraterrestrial life, inspired genetics researchers studying earthbound life.

Genetists have already begun to analyze data using Amazons's Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2). Called the Galaxy project, this system combines information from existing genome databases using a Web portal. Researchers from the National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI), the Pennsylvania State University, and the University of California, Santa Cruz pulled it all together. Galaxy will let researchers combine data from different sources and present visual results. Analyses can then be shared and integrated with other work.

The main focus of human DNA analysis has been to identify and treat disease. The International HapMap Project seeks to identify clusters of genes that contribute to health conditions. From their website:

The DNA sequence of any two people is 99.5 percent identical. The variations, however, may greatly affect an individual's disease risk. Sites in the DNA sequence where individuals differ at a single DNA base are called single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs). Sets of nearby SNPs on the same chromosome are inherited in blocks. This pattern of SNPs on a block is a haplotype. Blocks may contain a large number of SNPs, but a few SNPs are enough to uniquely identify the haplotypes in a block. The HapMap is a map of these haplotype blocks and the specific SNPs that identify the haplotypes are called tag SNPs. “

If our genetics is 99.5 percent identical, why are we so different? Different minds, attitudes, and appearance. The age old question about where we are products of our genes or our environment remains unanswered. Are humans just complicated androids composed of varying SNPs or is there an invisible component science hasn't identified. Yet.

Stress and Theta Waves

EEG, electroencephalography, analyzes brain activity by affixing electrodes to the scalp. It's used to diagnose seizures, tumors, strokes, sleep disorders, and comas. It's also used along with various stimuli to determine an individual's reaction. Clinically, the oscillations have been identified as Alpha, Beta, Delta, Gamma, Theta, and Mu rhythm associated with real or imagined arm movement. Delta, the slowest, oscillates around 4 Hz and appears in slow wave sleep. Theta, 4 Hz - 7 Hz, appears during meditation, intense bouts of creativity, and sometimes drowsiness. Alpha waves, 7 Hz - 12 Hz, appears during relaxation or closing eyes. Beta waves, 12 Hz - 30 Hz, are associated with motor activity. I often wondered if playing computer and video games might fall into this wave area but I couldn't find any studies. Gamma waves, 30 Hz to 100 Hz, usually appear during normal waking life. Clinical use of EEG targets specific areas of the nervous system and aids diagnosis. The Merck Manual Online goes into detail. DARPA studies have examined the relationship between brain waves and verbal/non-verbal communication.

Numerous studies on the effects of Transcendental Meditation were completed in the 1970's. Researchers found that indiividuals practicing TM changed their brain waves. This opened the door to further study. In March 2008, University of Tokyo researchers studied ZaZen meditators. Their brain waves proceeded in four stages: alpha waves, increases alpha wave amplitude, decrease of alpha, appearance of theta waves. Mindfulness meditation alleviated clinical anxiety disorders in various studies. The International Association of Yoga Therapists publishes a journal full of medical applications of both meditation and physical yoga. Significant results abound.

The real question, however, has not been answered. Why would meditation help? How, exactly, does it work? There's a clinical gap in understanding the mind/brain/body structure. If we are multidimensional beings projecting into a three-dimensional world, then there would be an unseen lattice connecting our physical brains with an essential mind. Ultraviolet light is invisible to our eyes but it's there. It can be detected. Perhaps someday, the matrix connecting the web of life will become visible.

Lloyd Pye and Our Alien Origins

After watching the History Channel program about the lost codex of Nostradamus, I decided to look for the actual watercolors online. I found them, with commentary of course, at CrystalLinks. Like the Nostradamus Quatrains, I felt the watercolors were very much open to interpretation. As humans, whatever that means, we tend to force meaning into what's otherwise meaningless. It's natural. I think it's a reaction to fear of the unknown. The monster in the closet. Maybe Nostradamus was a true Seer but didn't understand what he was seeing. How could a sixteenth century apothecary understand a jet or PC? But, is the timeline irreversible? Just because a Seer sees, does it have to happen?

So what has Lloyd Pye got to do with Nostradamus? Not much really. After reading several links, I ran across "Intervention Theory" proposed by Lloyd Pye. It's really not a new idea. The concept that Earth is a Seed Planet goes back a long way. This video is short and to the point. Just search YouTube with Intervention Theory and you'll come up with a bunch.

The concept that humans were created as slaves for beings with off-world origins is not a new one either. But what, exactly are we slaving at? Maybe in the ancient kingdoms, humans produced food and did other labor. But what are we doing now? What if the 'food' we produce is not what we consume but rather a byproduct of our emotional states. Fear, anger, hatred, and jealousy. Maybe the lesson of unconditional love for all life makes our slavers nervous.

Etowah Indian Mounds & Olympus

I had purchased a digital recorder to collect EVP when I visit different historical sites. It's --- or was -- an Olympus VN-5000 Digital Voice Recorder purchased at Best Buy for about $40. The sales person recommended it. I had used it on a number of occasions to record discussions at meetings. It worked very well. It's small, light, and did well on battery usage. I wasn't crazy about the menu and didn't really need all the features so I always used it in a very basic way. This model doesn't have a USB port so I had to use my male-male connector to download voice conversations to my PC. I use Audacity to clear noise and edit recordings. I've used Audacity many times over the years. It's great and I encourage anyone to download the free software. Unless you have mega-bucks and can buy sound software.

I visited the Etowah Indian Mounds and brought my Olympus VN-5000 Digital Voice Recorder to record EVP. I had been to the mounds before and heard odd drumming and murmuring sounds. Although it's difficult to distinguish between normal outdoor sounds and paranormal sounds, I had the sense that the drumming and murmuring might not be part of the environment. No proof. Just my opinion and experience.

The 54-acre Etowah Indian Mounds is located just off of I-75 in Cartersville, Georgia. Native Americans lived there from 1000 - 1500. It consists of the plaza that hosted the village and three mounds. The largest, a 63-foot flat-topped mound, held the home of the priest-chief. A funeral mound hosted death rituals. The third, and smallest mound, might be the newest. The Etowah River flows around the village. The Georgia Parks division hosts a variety of activities throughout the spring and summer ending with a torch-light walk in October. The $5 admission remains one of the few bargains in Georgia. If you're heading to Florida along I-75 during spring break, this is definitely a good midway-stop and adventure. Cartersville offers visitors plenty of accomodations, food, and activities for a short stay.

The museum built on the grounds offers a film made by students and faculty from Reinhardt University. A number of artifacts excavated from the funereal mound include two stone effigies. The original archaeologists reported strange sounds and feelings at the time the stone effigies were removed. No one really knows the purpose of the stone effigies but it's possible they were used as protection against invaders violating the funereal mound.

I decided I would hunt for EVP in the museum. I went on a cold, rainy Saturday when few visitors would be present. Good guess. Other than the park ranger, I was the only visitor. I sat through the film, once again, just to soak up the energy. I took my time in the museum and tried to be open to any possibilities. Since I was alone, I set my Olympus VN-5000 Digital Voice Recorder on a chair near the stone effigies. The batteries were brand new. The first time I checked the recorder, the batteries were dead. No surprise. I replaced them with fresh, brand-new batteries and continued my visit. When I returned to pick up the recorder, it was dead. Again. Once again, I replaced the batteries and stepped outside. Out of batteries and time, I picked up the recorder and left. In the car I tried to play the recorder. Yet again, it was dead so I drove home. I replaced the batteries at home hoping for the slightest EVP . The recorder was a dead as the stone effigies. Even with brand new batteries, it no longer worked. I receive an ERR message. I checked with Olympus and they said I used the wrong kind of batteries. I had to buy theirs. Not true. I used normal AAA alkaline batteries and never had a problem.

Is the Olympus VN-5000 Digital Voice Recorder junk? Was the Etowah Indiam Mound museum so wired that it zapped the recorder? Or do the stone effigies produce an unknown energy that defies electronics?

Starlings' Death Anomaly

Hundreds of starlings fell from the sky over Coxley, near Wells in Somerset. The birds had blood in their beaks and their claws were curled. The RSPCA collected them and are testing them for toxins. Apparently none of their necks were broken so it's unlikely they flew into anything. One of the theories proposed was that a predator flew into their midst and terrified them into flying into each other. That's a load of nonsense, in my opinion. Starlings are known for their murmuration. They wouldn't fly into each other. A predator might snag a meal or two but that would be it.

Another idea was that the birds were infected with a virus. It doesn't seem like illness from a virus would cause the birds to drop out of the sky. I would think they would become ill and never continue their migration. Unless it was some sort of bio-hazard. According to Natural News, Baxter 'accidentally' distributed avian flu virus along with other vaccines. However, how accidental could that have been since avian flu virus is under a different designation than other flu vaccines for humans.

On March 5, 2010, a toxic gas cloud injured four near Humberside, UK. A titanium tetrachloride gas escaped from the Cristal Global chemical plant, according to an article in The Guardian. Could that cloud of gas somehow affected the starlings? The RSPCA would need to figure out their flight pattern and the pathway of the gas. Granted, the titanium tetrachloride gas would have dissipated after it escaped, but maybe there was enough gas to affect birds. It's even possible that birds are affected more than other species.

Of course, all of the end-of-the-world fans came crawling out of the woodwork on this one. They blame "God" and sinful humans whenever something bad happens, I suppose.

I'm very confident that there is a scientific explanation for this anomaly. The question is, will we, the information peones, ever find out? If it's a corporate or governmental blunder, will they own up? Probably not. Fear of lawsuits and recriminations will keep a lid on whatever killed these poor birds.

Bigfoot , Chupacabras and other Strange Creatures

INTRODUCTION.

For more than a century, there has been a legend in the ever-enigmatic mountains of the American Northwest. The legend is based on tales about enormous hairy creatures that walk upwards in the same way that apes do.
These creatures have received different names, such as "Sasquatch", "Yeti", "Momo", "Touke Monster", "Yowies", "Dawn Man", "The Abominable Snowman", "Big Spirit", etc. But perhaps the most common name is "Bigfoot". Other creatures, of different characteristics, have also received different names, like "the Moor Monster", "Jersey Devil", "Mothman", "Dove Demon", "Loveland Frog", and lately, the "Chupacabras".

Here in Florida, the creature known as Bigfoot has been called the "Florida Skunk Ape". The name Skunk has been attributed to it for its apparent bad smell, which has been described as a combination of skunk, rotten eggs, and soiled manure. For the most part, the creature has been described as standing nearly 7 feet high and weighting about 300 pounds.
The area located between Homestead, Lake Okeechobee and Fort Myers, Florida, is where most sightings have occurred. The creature can very easily hide in this part of the Everglades; the vegetation is so dense that within a few steps, it can hide in the brush, without anyone seeing it, not even a low-flying helicopter. Furthermore, footprints are almost impossible to last long enough to be found in the swamp. The popular legend of the Skunk Ape has been part of the Everglades for decades. One of the first stories mentions that the military captured one of these beings and maintained it captive in the Everglades National Park, until the creature knocked down a fence and escaped. Dozens of reports of sightings during the seventies also mention the presence of an awful smell, allegedly emitted by that creature. Nevertheless, contrary to other Bigfoot-like beings, the Skunk Ape is described as a friendly creature.

On the other hand, there was strange activity during the month of March of 1996 in the area of Miami that points out to an unknown predator. These reports are very similar to events that happened before in other parts of the country and abroad. This predator has been nicknamed the "Chupacabras" among many folk stories, which have generated considerable popularity. Moreover, it is interesting to compare its behavior and
characteristics with those of other similar creatures that have been described in other parts of the country and the world.

By the middle of August of 2001, neighbors of a community in Esmeralda de Tocopilla, in Chile, at around five in the morning, reported seeing a strange creature on top of the roof of a house. They described it as dark colored, with very bright eyes and making enormous leaps while leaving the place where several domestic animals were found dead. The animals had a small hole in the neck and no blood left in their bodies. Due to those particular characteristics and descriptions, one eyewitness said that it was the Chupacabras. Aside from the endless amounts of sightings of this creature, we will present a brief summary of some of the cases that we have looked into. Although they describe different physical characteristics, they do show similar sequences of events.

FIRST CASE:

Place: Miami, Florida. Date: August of 1977.

Robert Morgan is considered a Bigfoot expert and has been at the front line of different expeditions trying to capture a live specimen. In the summer of 1977, we interviewed him after his conference in the University of Miami. Among other things, he told us that he was investigating a very interesting case that happened in Islamorada. "From Islamorada to the south of Miami, we were following a Bigfoot case, when neighbors of the island, reported hearing strange noises, such as garbage cans hitting the floor and some broken windows. The police closed all traffic to the island hoping to capture the animal. After hours of searching for it, they found nothing. Some eyewitnesses claimed to have seen a Bigfoot-like creature in the island. Others were sure they saw it walking into the sea", said Morgan.

The area between Homestead, lake Okeechobee and Fort Myers is where they have been seen it", he added. His interview was published in a Spanish magazine called "Revista Replica".

SECOND CASE:

Place: Miami Beach, Government Cut. Duration: 4-5 minutes. The exact date is
unknown. It was in the summer of 1967, at approximately 3:00 AM.

Anthony Martin was fishing at a location near the Port of Miami. Suddenly, he saw a whirl in the water. He first thought it was a scuba diver, but to his astonishment, he saw an enormous animal coming out of the water. It stood about 8 feet tall and its weight must have been about 400 pounds. "Its head, face, eyes and ears looked like the ones of an ape. The body was covered with a very black thick hair, its arms were long; they extended below the knees. Its hands and feet were very big. A bright lamp from a small house lit the entire place. When it finally came out of the water, it walked towards me. The creature was limping on its left foot. There was a small fence nearby; it was only about 3 feet high, so it wasn't difficult for the creature to
jump over it; in fact, the being was so big that it stepped right over it. It walked a full circle around me. The animal stopped at about 10 feet from me and emitted a guttural sound. By that time, I saw the lights of an approaching police car. The headlights were pointing at us. The creature continued to walk around for a few more moments until it finally went back in the water and disappeared. Two police officers with their guns came out of the patrol car; they told me that they already knew about the creature. I finally left and went home. That marked the end of my favorite sport: fishing", he said. At the present time, Mr. Martin is retired and he lives in Las Vegas, Nevada. This interview was recorded on video, in 1991.

THIRD CASE:

Place: Highway I-75 (Alligator Alley). Duration: less than one minute. Date: July 1977. Time: 11:00 PM.

Mr. Hector Abascal, 26 years old, and Mr. Jorge Porte, of 25 years of age, were traveling on highway I-75, also known as the Everglades Parkway. They were going to visit some friends in the city of Tampa. Afterward, they were planning to continue traveling to Orlando, where they would later visit Disney World.

"We noticed that the car had a flat tire when we were near Naples, it was well over 11 at night. I opened the trunk, grabbed the lug wrench, and began loosening the nuts on the rim", said Hector. "The first thing we noticed was a bad smell shortly followed by some fairly audible footsteps. I looked to the other side of the highway and I saw an enormous creature, illuminated by the rear lights of our car, crossing the highway and heading right towards us. I turned around to see if I could find Jorge, but he was already at a good distance from me; he was so scared that he had already started running away from the site. I stood up holding the lug wrench in my hands like a weapon. Within an instant, the animal was already standing in front of me. I felt paralyzed. The animal looked at me, then it just turned around and walked away. It continued heading north, until it finally disappeared in the bushes. Jorge came back and we got in the car without saying a word. We left the place immediately, without even changing the tire", said Abascal.

According to their description, the Bigfoot creature was about 7 or 8 feet tall. It also emitted a strong scent similar to rotten eggs. It breathed heavily. It had the body shape of a human, but with the face of an ape. Furthermore, its body was covered with black hair.

FOURTH CASE:

Tocopilla, Chile. Date: June 18 of 2000. 12:00 AM.

A group of young people was at the beach enjoying the warmth of a bonfire. Suddenly, a large creature came out of the water. They were all astonished as they saw the strange being getting closer. The creature approached one of them making several guttural sounds, as if it was trying to communicate with the young man. Moments later, it placed its right hand on the young man's left shoulder, leaving a green stain on his sweater, which they described as the same color as marine algae. The Bigfoot-like creature soon left, as it got
back in the water and disappeared in the dark. The eyewitnesses, whom they preferred to remain anonymous, described the creature as 8-feet tall, with long dark furry hair, long arms with hands below the knees, big round eyes, with a long nose and mouth shaped like an animal muzzle. This interview was recorded on video.

DISCUSSION

For the first time, this latest case alerted us about th e possibilities that the Bigfoot might have some kind of connection with Chupacabras phenomenon, given that northern Chile, for the most part, is well known for its Chupacabras sightings. This was something that never would have occurred to us before. A strange coincidence is that so many elements in both the Islamorada and the Tocopilla cases are almost identical; both creatures were seen leaving and entering the sea. This makes us think that they might hide under the sea, lakes or swamps. Both creatures left footprints the size of a football and other similar traces behind. Nevertheless, they have never been photographed, and in spite of countless efforts, they have never been captured.
Furthermore, no one has ever found any remains of these creatures. There are many reports of UFOs entering and leaving the sea, both in Florida and in Chile.

During an interview for Teletrece, a national Chilean television network, dated October 21 of 2001, Jorge Martinez, a retired Admiral and former Chilean Chief of Naval Operations, admitted that he personally had witnessed two ufo sightings at sea. During one of them, a nearby ufo caused interference with the navigation systems and the ship's radar. It is widely known that many other naval officers have seen similar objects, which they call "USOs", (Unidentified Submarine Objects). According to the former Chilean Navy Chief,
this phenomenon is real.

A taxi driver, who we call Carlos, and happens to be a friend of Jaime Ferrer, our associate in Calama, Chile, has told us that during a trip to Tocopilla, he and some customers saw several low-flying ufos coming from the sea towards the nearby Atacama Desert, where later, tracks made by some kind of landing gear, as well as Chupacabras tracks were found. The tracks appeared to be coming from the exact spot where the ufo landed. Coincidently, just like the Chupacabras and ufo tracks in Chile, there have been reports of
ufos in the same areas where Bigfoot creatures have been seen. Although we have not been able to establish a possible Bigfoot-UFO connection in the United States, we can look at the cases reported near Mount Rainier, in the State of Washington, where Kenneth Arnold observed nine ufos in 1947 giving popularity to the "flying saucer phenomena". Yet, in the same area, there have been countless Bigfoot or Sasquatch sightings dating back to the XIX century.

On the other hand, in light of the evidence found in Chile, we can now affirm that the Chupacabras is part of the ufo phenomenon. We have not found evidence that it is part of some kind of terrestrial genetic experiment, nor do we believe that it is an ordinary animal. The evidence points out to a ufo related origin; I don't have slightest doubt about it. All this is creating a new chapter in the investigation of the ufo phenomenon that
undoubtedly, many will find difficult to accept. But this is very typical. For example, the abduction phenomenon took more than 20 years before ufologists accepted it as part of the ufo investigative field. Even today, many still doubt that alien abductions take place.

It is not my intention to try to convince anyone that the Bigfoot and the Chupacabras phenomena are the same; instead, like many other strange creatures, these may have a possible relation with ufos. It is not a coincidence that we receive reports mentioning a Bigfoot creature in Tocopilla, Chile, followed by numerous Chupacabras and ufo sightings, in what we could call the Chilean 2000-2001 wave. We are facing a presence of intelligent or programmed creatures that have appeared sporadically and have been associated with other phenomena for more than a century, to whom erroneously, we have given them different names. To finally understand what is really behind all of these creatures, we have to study their characteristics, their behavior,
and most importantly, the other associated phenomena that are often reported when these cases take place. We should know and learn about these phenomena, not only for their physical aspect of these creatures, but for their intentions, and most importantly, for their actions and their reactions.

We are buried in some kind of game where our intelligence faces another intelligence, which happens to be strange or, to say the least, different than ours, where the apparently incompatible logic doesn't seem to work, let alone our intuition. Accumulating data from field investigations is all we can do at this point in time. But, will we finally ever know the essence of these phenomena?

We still don't hold the truth in our hands, but we are looking for it.

Having lived in Virginia for over nine years, I've had my share of interesting experiences. The "Stealth Bomber" , or Northrop Grumman B-2 Spirit, flew overhead a number of times. Most savvy Hampton Roads residents knew it must be some kind of test craft. However, visitors wondered if they had seen a UFO. Craft zipped across the sky over Virginia Beach all the time. Of course, YouTube contributors offer plenty of shaky camera work that show lights dancing across the night sky. More flares tossed from planes or ETs?

My own experiences in Virginia involved a tour on one of the historic ships visiting Waterside in Norfolk. I saw and spoke with a young man dressed in period costume. On the way off of the ship, I told the guide that the young man in period costume really looked the part. The guide chuckled and said that none of the staff were in period costume. I thought he was joking. He wasn't. I wondered how that sailor could stand to wear a wool uniform on such a hot summer day.

Survival Hypotheses and EVP

The Association for TransCommunication describes their Survival Hypothesis on their website. Basically, there is an aspect of reality not yet defined by physical science. They describe this aspect as "etheric" and state that entities exist in this etheric realm. The ATC, formerly known as the AA-EVP, has also proposed a number of hypotheses regarding EVPs.

As anyone who has watched various ghost-related shows already knows, EVP, electronic voice phenomena, represents sounds made on various devices that do not come from the living humans carrying the devices. The voices or sounds are not heard at the time of the recording but rather, after the fact.

I experienced an EVP first hand --- and without trying. I was meeting with a group during the 1980's. I had a cassette tape recorder going so that I could review the discussion afterward. When I listened to the tape there was a long, slow, and fairly loud growl. There were no dogs or other animals present. I played it for the group the following week. They were surprised. No one was hungry and it didn't have that hollow sound of someone's stomach. It didn't sound mechanical either. I asked if anyone could have moved their chair or scraped their feet. We tried to do everything possible to reproduce that sound and could not. We never heard the growl again either. So, what was it? A disembodied entity making itself known? If so, why? How? A dissenter to our discussions? Years later when I learned about EVP, I tried, in vain, to collect a voice. Finally one evening, I asked for someone to say something --- anything. When I listened to the tape, a faint, robot-like, monotone voice said "something." Guess they have a sense of humor. Whoever and wherever they are.

Mystery Lights

The National Geographic channel has jumped into the paranormal rush with a program called Mystery Lights. They're exploring the lights that people see at night jumping around and sometimes following their cars. Pilots have documented lights for years. The Brown Mountain lights don't show up on thermal cameras which rules out fire. The form shows up as a blue, luminous, dancing light.

Chupacabras

Virgilio Sanchez-Ocejo from the Miami UFO Center concluded a ten-year study of the phenomenon know as Chupacabras. This creature has mutilated, consumed, and drained the blood of cows, horses, dogs, sheep, goats, pigs, chickens, and other domestic and wild animals. The wave of reports began in 1995 in Puerto Rico and continued in Florida, Texas, and Mexico. Investigators reported attacks throughout Central and South America as well.

All sorts of hypotheses have been made. Ghosts, extraterrestrials, vampire cults, and coyotes with mange dominate the proposed creature identity. Virgilio Sanchez-Ocejo and team collected reports from witnesses, teeth, hair samples. plastic molds, and other forensic-type evidence. Results from analyzing DNA samples indicate that the Chupacabras is an animal of unknown identity.

Phoenix Lights

Last night, National Geographic did a program on the Phoenix Lights. I missed it. Fell asleep on the Olympic's advertising saga then went to bed. So today, I looked for info about the 1997 Phoenix lights. Seen by thousands, they're still unexplained. The military have said that they were not testing anything. They would not test experimental aircraft near a highly populated area. I know this to be true. I lived near Virginia Beach, VA when they were testing the stealth line of aircraft. They kept tests near the Atlantic Ocean area. I had seen those tests and must say that, although they could be mistaken as UFOs, there was a three-dimensional quality about actual aircraft. However weird.

Back to the Phoenix lights. A similar sighting happened in September, 2009. As you can see in the video the lights are evenly and consistently spaced apart and move in what appears to be a controlled manner. If someone is playing games with the people of Phoenix, you have to wonder why. And why a twelve-year hiatus. Game players usually come forward for the notoriety.

So what is going on? Does anyone really know. It's generally believed that the "general public" would panic if someone in authority would acknowledge the continued existence of extraterrestrials on our planet. Maybe they're right. People tend to worship whatever they don't understand.

Proof Positive --- Gravity Distorts Time

American and German physicists proved that time slows near a massive body. The actual experiements were done at the quantum level. The study proved that gravity is a product of space-time curvature. Time is not a constant throughout the universe but varies with the placement of planets, stars, and black holes. This also affects string theory which states that matter can respond to factors outside space-time.

Not a big deal? But it is. It truly is a big deal Theoretical physics -- Einstein's theory of relativity -- has been proven within the confines of the three-dimensional world. This happened in a laboratory. Not a crazy dream in a sleep lab. Practical applications include greater precision in global positioning.

So what's it got to do with the Paranormal? Ghosts? UFOs? Extraterrestial entities already knew this and much more. This empirical study supports the idea that ETs advanced in technology may already know how to bend time. Ghosts? If the resolution of string theory with quantum physics requires at least a ten-dimensional cosmos, then the answer is easy. Residual haunts have somehow imprinted energies on space-time to be played over and over. What happens to us when we no longer have a body? If a multidimensional aspect of our self persists, maybe that's what hangs around a location. Maybe that aspect, existing beyound space-time, has no idea that s/he has been dead for hundreds of years. Maybe there are no years after migration beyond space-time.

The Haunted Cottage

John Wilkes Booth's former temporary home, now known as the Haunted Cottage, has been opened as a paranormal museum and research center. Harper's Ferry, West Virginia, has enormous significance in American history so it's no wonder that witnesses have observed phenomena. The crossroads of the Civil War, Harper's Ferry saw the execution of John Brown who wanted to abolish slavery. John Wilkes Booth believed in the Confederate cause and the preservation of slavery. Vince Wilson, head of the Harpers Ferry Society for Paranormal Research,and other witnesses have reported footsteps, moaning from the slave quarters, and shadowy apparations.

Visitors have reported seeing a man who looks like John Brown appearing and disappearing. So, are the hauntings residual or intelligent? It would seem like a place erupting with emotionally charged history would display residual hauntings. Someone as moral and politically active as John Brown would surely move on to other activities in the afterlife. A check of the records could show other individuals executed for actual crimes like stealing horses. Those disembodied folks might still be hanging around.

Cloud Puncture or Worm Hole?

Apparently observers in Mexico, Russia, and Florida have reported unusual cloud formations. Looking like an indentation, these formations have increased in frequency.

One of the sites suggest that it's a wormhole. But, would a wormhole affect cloud formations? I would think that interdimensional travel would not. What do you think? Here's the video:

Thinking further about paranormal jobs. Massage therapists, nurses, physical therapists, and other health care workers can moonlight in holistic health fields. Offering services through psychic fairs, new age magazines, and medical offices could one day build into a full practice.

Reducing blood pressure through guided meditation could be one opportunity for a nurse. While anyone could do it, a qualified nurse would be prepared to take blood pressures and offer general medical guidance.

Weight loss groups formed by dieticians could also employ activities like meditation. They could use crystals and spirit guides for motivation and reinforcement.

Studying paranormal applications, including borderline ones like acupuncture, might give standard health care professionals a part-time job. Maybe even something full time without the difficult work schedule.

A proven track record helps but successful readings tend to build reputations faster than credentials. Pricing below the competition helps too.

Phone/chat lines provide their share of angst. Many psychics don't like working for them. They take a chunk of money. Readers claim that they're urged to prolong the sessions in order to collect more revenue. Whether a reader is truly psychic or hyper-observant, it's difficult to read for a disembodied voice even if he or she is a live one.

Writing
Paranormal phenomena has spawned a wide variety of reading materials. From fictionalized vampires to real life cryptoids, the field opens loads of possibilities. Of course, it's necessary to write well. With Kindle books, e-books, and publishing on demand, it's easier than ever to get your words out.

But wait, there's more.

Ever attend a ghost tour? In some locales, Halloween brings in terrific revenues. You need the permission of building owners especially if you allow photography and recording. Think about the interest of the businesses involved. A haunted restaurant? You can work out a deal with the owners to include it as the last stop of your tour. A haunted church? Be sure to discuss it with the pastor. She or he might drum up business by greeting your group. Potential converts are everywhere. Local historians, while finding the ghost idea repugnant, may just help out for the publicity. Or book sales.

These jobs could be handy for pocket money but don't quit your day job until you're collecting a regular salary.
